Abstract

This paper analyzes manufacturing behaviour in ColombiaÍ€™s main metropolitan areas, following the process of internationalization and economic opening, during the nineties. The article, based on empirical evidence and regional share, concludes that the geographical distribution framework has not changed considerably, despite that, in the process, some regions have turned up as winners and others as losers. The latter due to the productivity differential in relation to the advantages acquired in the previous economic model.
